Fitzgerald’s offers a haven for the value-oriented tourist downtown. Low minimums, famously easy comps, and a fun vibe that few can resist make the affectionately known “Fitz” a low-mid roller’s dream. Fitzgerald’s now features a poker room – While small, it is reported to be one of the most fun games in town. At 628 rooms the Fitz is a fairly large hotel, the tallest downtown. Also of interest is the fact that the Fitz is the first Nevada casino to be owned by an African-American led company.

Fitzgerald’s elevators are known to be a bottleneck during busy times – guests are well advised to request a room on a low floor so that you may easily use the stairs in case the wait time for an elevator is longer than you care to wait.

Fitzgeralds opened its doors in 1979 as the Sundance Hotel, renamed to Fitzgerald’s in 1987.

Recently (june 3-7)we stayed at the Fitzgerald and had a ball. The comps were excellent, the rooms were clean, the food at the buffet was excellent and couldn't ask for better service... always courteous and willing to assist..... and the slots were paying. Would recommend highly!
