Fremont is an often overlooked downtown hotel/casino full of history. At one point run by the famous Frank Rosenthal (also known as Sam “Ace” Rothstein character from the ‘Casino’ movie), today’s Fremont offers a fun, safe 32,000 square feet of gaming space and 447 good rooms for a good price. Fremont was opened in 1956, and the hotel has seen a recent remodeling. The bathrooms are reported to be very small, but the rooms clean, and the games friendly. Hotel guests are advised to request a room on a high floor and/or away from Fremont if you plan to retire early or sleep lightly, as the sound from the Fremont Street Experience show can be bothersome on the lower floors of the Fremont-facing side of the hotel.
